RootX Root Control

Cutting roots out of a line treats the symptom. They grow back, usually within a year, and often thicker. RootX treats the regrowth so the interval gets longer instead of shorter.

A Darr's Cleaning high-pressure jetting trailer, its hose reel, water tanks, engine and pump on a twin-axle frame, parked above Lake Erie
Root work usually pairs with jetting.

Why Cutting Alone Fails

A cutter or a jetter clears the line and the pipe runs again. What it does not do is discourage the root, which is being fed by exactly what is in the pipe. Pruning is, if anything, an invitation.

RootX is a foaming herbicide that reaches the crown of the pipe where the roots actually enter, rather than running along the bottom with the flow. Treated after a mechanical clean, it slows the return substantially.

How the Work Goes

  • Camera the line to confirm roots, and where they are entering
  • Clear mechanically, usually by jetting
  • Apply RootX so it contacts the full circumference of the pipe
  • Agree a sensible re-treatment interval based on what the camera showed
